Locating a Disk or Media Drive

The 7013 Models Jxx units have two SCSI buses in each unit. The SCSI buses are
controlled by SCSI-2 Differential Fast/Wide Controllers installed in the MCA slots.
In the base unit, the standard configuration has a SCSI controller in MCA slot 7 attached to
SCSI bus A. The optional SCSI controller for SCSI bus B is in MCA slot 6 in the base unit.
The SCSI controllers are attached to SCSI bus input connectors (P01, P02) inside the base
unit.
In the expansion unit, the SCSI controllers are attached to the Bulkhead SCSI Module
(BHS) input connectors for SCSI bus A and SCSI bus B. The SCSI buses in the expansion
unit can be controlled from a SCSI adapter installed in either the base unit or the expansion
unit.

Note: The connectors on the system interface board (represented by a "T" above) are for
terminators only. No external devices can be attached to these connectors.

Location Codes

Use the lsdev –C | pg command or the smit lsdev command to display a list of all
the defined and available devices on your system.
The following location code description identifies the unit, MCA slot number, and SCSI
address of each drive (See "Location Codes" in Chapter 1 for additional information):
