Check filter wheel to make sure:
• Tab is properly positioned (top edge-to-top edge) in the
filter wheel's photo-sensor (U4) on the main controller PC
board.
• Proper horizontal alignment with respect to the chassis
assembly (filter wheel should be perpendicular to the
optical block).
• Filter wheel should freely rotate 360
interference. (Some early models would not rotate 360
Ok as long as it solidly hits the base plate without getting
stuck.)
Check to make sure there is a 1 mm clearance between the
face of the light tunnel and slide carrier (Holder ) assembly.
Check to make sure it does not arc. Turn power on and off
and listen.
Check to make sure the fan turns on when the scanner is
turned on.
Check the rotation of its lead screw. It should move up/
down smoothly (not wobble).
Note: It is very difficult to observe all wobble as it moves up or
down.
Check and adjust if necessary. Power Supply voltage should
be set at +5.0 +/- 0.1 Vdc. See adjustment procedure in this
section.
Check focus and adjust if necessary. See adjustment
procedure in this section.
Check magnification and adjust if necessary. See adjustment
procedure in this section.
