Defective lamp.
Failure of first
calibration or host
request for an extreme
biased white point.
Lamp too bright - slide
scanner thinks its has too
much light during initial
calibration. Over saturated
at nominal for one or more
colors.
ND filter position incorrect.
Lamp too dim - slide
scanner thinks its has too
little light during initial
calibration to properly
calibrate for one or
more colors.
Operating too hot.

Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
Action
Replace Lamp.
Decrease biased white
point.
Replace Lamp.
Check ND filter position.
If necessary, correct
position of ND filter.
Check lamp, ND filter,
and optical path for
any obstructions.
If necessary, replace
lamp.
Allow slide scanner to
cool down and check for:
• hair in calibration window
• dust/dirt on CCD
• dark spots on lamp
If necessary, replace CCD.
Note: If this error stills
persists after the
necessary action
is taken, replace
sensor (CCD) PC
