1. Lift the handset and dial ***4 (the enable DHCP parameter code). The voice prompt
announces, " DHCP is enabled now. Please press pound."
2. Press the pound key (#).
3. Reset the Net2Phone MAX 4 as directed in Step 4 in Section 2.2.1.2, above.
DHCP is now enabled.
The telephone keypad configuration parameter codes are as follows:
Read IP address
Assign static IP address
Assign netmask

Entering Static IP Addresses via HyperTerminal

Although many of the Net2Phone MAX 4' s IP parameters can be set manually through the serial
connection, if desired, this section will only show you how to set the IP address and netmask
parameters. The procedure is as follows.
2.2.2.1
Turning DHCP Off (or On) from HyperTerminal
The MAX' s default DHCP setting is DCHP enabled. Before you can enter a static IP address, you
must first disable DHCP. (The same procedure is used to re-enable it, if necessary.)
1. Follow the procedures in Section 2.1.2.1 and 2.1.2.2, above, to start your HyperTerminal
connection. Logging into the MAX 4.
2. After logging in from the root directory, type " /config/ip" followed by Enter key to move
to the /config/ip directory.
3. From the MAX:/config/ip> prompt, type " dhcp disable" followed by Enter key to
change DHCP setting.
4. Type " /config" followed by Enter key to move to /config directory.
5. Type " save" followed by Enter key to save your new DHCP mode.
6. Type " /sys/reset" .
7. At the confirmation line, type " y" followed by Enter to proceed.
8. After rebooting the MAX 4, DHCP function is Off
