4Q3: Shaft Seals
The vessel is equipped with dripless shaft seals
that are lubricated by ATF fluid; the seal should be
occasionally checked to be sure that there is not
inappropriate water leakage. No adjustment or other
service is required.
4Q4: Stabilizers
The boat is fitted with a Naiad
hydraulic stabilizer system consisting of active
fins on the underside of the vessel outboard of
the main engines' rear seam with the
transmissions. These fins are controlled by a
control head at the lower helm, with adjustments
for sensitivity and trim. The stabilizer hydraulic
pump is driven by a main engine, and the
stabilizers do not affect the boat when it is not
underway, and only reach their full effectiveness
at speeds over 7.5 knots or so.
