Th e Kabola heater is the best choice for heating the water. It is very
fast to heat the water. It does not require the engine or generator to be
running to heat the water.
Anytime the Kabola heater is running, you are heating the hot water
tank. If you do not want to run the Kabola heater to heat the boat's
interior, you can still have the Kabola run to only heat the water in the
hot water tank.
To do this, just set the Kabola switch to System Heat and the Winter/
Summer selector to Summer. [Also see the Kabola section in this
manual]
Using the 120v Heating element to heat water
Turn on the 120v heating element by turning on the AC breaker
marked "water heater" in the AC panel. Use this option when you are
at dock and connected to shore power with suffi cient amperage and no
do want to run the Kabola diesel heater. We use the Kabola for our hot
water 365 days/yr.
Using the 240v Heating element to heat water
Turn on the 240v beaker located to the starboard side of the lower helm
on the small return panel.
You would use this option when you do not want, or cannot use the
Kabola Heater. You will need to run a generator in order to have the
required 240v to heat the element.
Th ere are two fresh water pumps. Only one is active at a time. Th e
second pump serves as a back-up in case the primary pump fails. Th e
pumps are located in the engine room, just inboard of the port engine
stringer. Th e pumps are labels Pump One and Pump Two. Th ere are
corresponding breakers in the 12v breaker panel [show photo] labeled
F.W. Pump #1 and F.W. Pump #2.
Water pressure is created by the pumps and stored in a pressure
accumulator tank. When you open a faucet, the water will fl ow.
