The 3.5-inch diskette drive

The diskette drive is included in the original configuration. If you need to
replace the diskette drive, follow the instructions below.
To replace the diskette drive:

Observe the safety and ESD precautions in "Preventing static electricity
discharge" on page 15.

Remove the front and back access panels (see "Opening the case" on
page 17).

Remove the fans (see "Replacing the system fans" on page 67) and foam
fan carrier from the drive bay.

Disconnect the power and signal cables from the diskette drive. The
connectors are keyed for ease in reconnecting them to the drive.

Remove and save the screw that secures the diskette drive mounting
bracket to the side of the 5.25-inch drive bay.

Slide the mounting bracket toward the back of the chassis to disengage
the tabs from the slots in the side of the 5.25-inch drive bay.
