161-System Options Error-{Run SETUP).
If you installed your system unit for the first
time and received a 161 error you may have the
battery improperly connected or the battery may
be defective. Refer to CHART 2, Installing
your Internal Options to verify that you
connected the battery properly. If the battery is
~
properly connected go to step 10, "Running the
Setup Program". If you cannot correct the 161
error with the Setup Program contact your place
of purchase for instructions on battery
replacement.
Note:
If
you have a battery problem you can
continue to operate your IBM Personal
Computer AT by running the "Setup"
program EACH time you turn your system
unit's power on.
CAUTION
Fire, explosion, and severe burn hazard may
be caused by the battery. DO NOT
recharge, disassemble, heat above 100° C
(212° F), solder directly to the cell,
incinerate, or expose battery cell contents to
water.
