Printer Control Codes Examples

Start Basic. If you need help, refer to your IBM
Personal Computer Basic manual.
This first example shows how to send the control code
SO (ASCII decimal value 14) to the printer to print
data in double-width print.

Type: LPRINT CHR$(14);"Personal Computer"

Press Enter (+--l ).
Your printer will print:

This second example shows the use of the control code
Escape (ESC) E (ASCII values 27 and 69) to print
data in emphasized print.
