Typewriter Key Area
The keys in the typewriter area are similar to those of a
standard typewriter. Most of the keys are typematic.
This means they will repeat as long as you hold them
down.
There are some additional keys that perform control
functions for your IBM Personal Computer AT. These
functions are controlled by the program you are using.
The IBM Personal Computer AT comes with an
installed program language called Beginner's
All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code (BASIC).
BASIC, is a programming language that uses common
English words. The descriptions and functions of
individual keys on the following pages apply when you
are using IBM BASIC.
If
you are using other programs
you must refer to those program manuals for key
descriptions and their functions.
