8. S etting the display
language and unit
Once activation has been completed, the printer
requires setting of the language, temperature unit,
and length unit at the time of restart.
Follow the procedure below to setup.
11 Once activation has been completed,
"Reboot a printer" is displayed on the
Operation panel. Press the [Power] key on
the Operation panel and turn the power
OFF.
11 Press the [Power] key on the Operation
panel and turn the power ON.
• "Language: English" is displayed on the
Operation panel.
21 Press [+] or [-] key on the Operation panel
to select the set value, and press the [Enter]
key.
• To set the language to Japanese, select
"Language: Japanese".
• "Temp: Celsius[ C]" is displayed on the
Operation panel.
41 Press [+] or [-] key on the Operation panel
to select the set value, and press the [Enter]
key.
• If you want to display the temperature in
Fahrenheit, select "Temp: Fahrenheit [°F]".
• "Length: mm" is displayed on the Operation
panel.

Press [+] or [-] key on the Operation panel
to select the set value, and press the [Enter]
key.
• If you want to display the temperature in
inch, select "Length: inch".
• This completes the setting the display
language and units.
• The printer starts initial operation.
• When the initial operation is complete, the
printer enters normal status.

cartridge
This sec tion explains how to install ink
cartridges.
Follow the steps below to install ink cartridges.
● The procedures differ between VJ-2638/VJ-
1638 and VJ-1638W. Check your printer model
name and follow the correct procedure.

Turn the printer ON.
• The printer starts the initializing operation.
• After the initial operation is compete,
"Start Ink Charge ? > E" is displayed on the
operation panel.
11 Press the [Enter] key on the operation
panel.
• "Insert Cleaning cart." is displayed on the
operation panel.
21 Take out the cleaning cartridge(8pcs) from
the bag.

Set the cleaning cartridge to the ink
cartridge slot.
• Keep the arrow of Cleaning cartridge facing
up and insert it into the printer toward the
front side.
