Selecting the Native
Scan/Scan Mode
You can select scan mode from a native scan, under scan
(–3%), normal scan (0%) and over scan (mask of 5% over
scan portion in the normal scan picture).
Under scan and over scan modes are selectable only when
the signal is displayed in Quad View mode.
You can set scan mode in Function (page 50) of the
Controls tab window of the Main Operation window. To
display the signal in native scan, set Native Scan to on.
Note
Native Scan is not selectable in the following cases:
• When the input signal has no sync signal
• When Format is set to DVI Computer (Native Scan
display is set to on regardless of its setting.)
• When the HDMI computer signal is input (Native Scan
display is set to on regardless of its setting.)
• When the input signal is 2048 × 1080 and the internal
signal is displayed (Native Scan is set to off regardless of
its setting and the normal scan display is selected.)
To switch the scan mode, set Native Scan to off then select
any scan mode in Scan.
Normal: Normal mode
Under: Under mode
Over: Over mode
Note
The scan mode cannot be switched in the following cases:
• When the input signal has no sync signal
• When the internal signal is displayed
• When Native Scan is set to on

Displaying the Picture in
Black Detail Mode
Black detail mode display function
You can reduce to dull black color by backlight leaking
and precisely assess any parts with low color gradation.
You can decrease the black level up to 40% of the normal
display (100 cd/m
color gradation (higher than 75 IRE) are clipped by the
dynamic range of the circuit and can be shown with a zebra
pattern (selectable).
For details on the zebra pattern display for the clipped
portion, see "Black Detail" (page 63) of the
Miscellaneous tab window of the Display Function
window.
Notes
• The setting is in effect when Gamma (transmission
gamma) of the Matrix/Gamma menu is set to 2.2 or 2.6
RGB.
• The contrast is not adjusted in black detail mode.
• The gamut error is not displayed in black detail mode.
• When H Delay/V Delay is set to On, the signal is not
displayed in black detail mode.
For the Matrix/Gamma setting, see "Matrix/Gamma"
(page 45) of the Configurations tab window of the Main
Operation window.
To display the signal in black detail mode
Set Black Detail to on in Function of the Controls tab
window of the Main Operation window (page 51).
The OVER RANGE lamp of the front panel is lit in black
detail mode.
