CHECKING THE CRANKSHAFT AND CON-
NECTING ROD
1. Measure:
crankshaft runout
Out of specification
shaft, bearing or both.
NOTE:
Turn the crankshaft slowly.
Crankshaft runout
Less than 0.03 mm
2. Measure:
big end axial clearance
Out of specification
bearing, crankshaft pin, or connecting rod.
Big end axial clearance
0.15
Limit 0.6 mm
3. Measure:
crankshaft width
Out of specification
shaft.
Crankshaft width
40.15
4. Check:
crankshaft sprocket 1
Damage/wear
bearing 2
Cracks/damage/wear
crankshaft.
5. Check:
crankshaft journal
Scratches/wear
crankshaft journal oil passage
Obstruction

CRANKSHAFT
Replace the crank-
Replace the big end
0.35 mm
Replace the crank-
40.20 mm
Replace the crankshaft.
Replace
Replace the crankshaft.
Blow out with compressed air.
