TROUBLESHOOTING

Trouble
Power remains off.
Camera images are not dis-
played at local site on the
monitor.
Received images are not
displayed at local site on the
monitor.
Howling
No sound
Sound too low

Possible Cause
Power cord is not correctly connected.
Power plug is not inserted into an AC out-
let.
Camera is not connected to selected video
input connector.
Monitor is connected to local video output.
Opposite site is voice encoder set to G722
and is connected at 1B or 64K.
Echo canceler (AEC) is set to OFF.
Speaker and microphone of the opposite
site are too close to each other.
Audio output connector and audio input
connector are connected to the same VTR.
Audio output and audio input of the moni-
tor are not connected.
AUDIO SEND is set to OFF at the opposite
site.
Transmitting audio is muted at the opposite
site.
Microphone is directly connected to audio
input. Speaker is directly connected to
audio output.
Remedy
Insert power cord plug correctly into an AC
outlet.
Select the video input to which camera is con-
nected, using video selection menu.
Connect monitor to monitor output 1 or 2.
Connect opposite site voice encoder at 2B or
128K, or connect it after setting it to G728 or
no voice.
Set AEC to ON on [AUDIO] menu.
Keep microphones away from speaker at the
opposite site, or adjust speaker volume.
Do not connect audio output connector and
audio input connector to the same VTR.
Connect audio output and audio input of the
monitor correctly.
Set to G722 or G728 on AUDIO menu at oppo-
site site if it is a transmitter, or to ON if it is a
receiver.
Audio mute must be reset at the opposite site.
Audio input and output of this AV Codec are
set to a line level of –10 dBV. Microphone
amplifier and speaker amplifier are necessary.
