Fault Messages
Displayed until corrected, these high priority messages alert you to a printer fault condition.
Use the table below to locate the message being displayed by the printer, follow the row over
to find a description of the problem, and then a possible solution. If you have questions,
contact a qualified technician or Datamax Technical Support.

ADC FAULT The printer has detected an
analog to digital circuit
converter failure.
CLOSE HEAD The Printhead is not latched.
LATCH
DMA FAULT The printer has detected a
Direct Memory Access
failure.
GAP MODE Consistently low sensor
CANNOT readings have been detected
CALIBRATE for the media.
GAP MODE Consistently high sensor
FAULTY readings have been detected
SENSOR for the media.

Possible Solution(s)
Cycle printer power OFF and ON. If the fault
does not clear, call for service.
Lower the printhead assembly and lock the
Printhead Latch.
Cycle printer power OFF and ON. If the fault
does not clear, call for service.

media was removed from the media sensor
during the appropriate calibration steps; also
ensure that ribbon has been correctly loaded
and that the sensor is clean. Retry the
calibration. If the problem persists, try
Advanced Entry Calibration.
