2.4 Maintenance

The following list and table detail the recommended items, techniques and schedules to help you safely
and effectively maintain the printer. No other regular maintenance is required.

Isopropyl alcohol

Cotton swabs

A clean, lint-free cloth

Soft-bristle brush

Soapy water/mild detergent

Compressed air

Printhead Cleaning Cards and/or Printhead Cleaning Film
For your safety and to avoid damaging the printer, turn 'Off' and unplug the printer before cleaning.
Always take proper precautions when using isopropyl alcohol, a flammable liquid.
CAUTION
Component / Area
Printhead Thermal transfer media – after each roll of
ribbon.
Direct thermal media – after each roll of
media, or as needed.
Platen After each roll of labels, after each roll of
Roller ribbon, or as needed.
Media Sensor / Compressed air or a soft brush. Isopropyl
Media Path / alcohol, as needed. Remove all build-up.
Interior
Exterior Surfaces As needed, based on a weekly visual
inspection.
Cutter After each roll of labels, after each roll of
Option ribbon, or as needed.
Power Supply Fan Clean as needed, depending upon
Filter environmental conditions.
*Whichever occurs first.
