3 • Theory Of Operation
Function
Detects an empty feeder deck
Mail piece gap creation. Stage mail
ahead of WOW module. Used as 1 of 3
sensors to measure mail length
Used to measure envelope length of
material less than 9.88 inches.
Used to measure envelope length great-
er than 9.88 inches. Also used to detect
envelope exit from weighing transport.
Detects mail entering the printer mod-
ule.
Used to detect skew in the DM300c.
Skew sensing is turned off in the DM400
through DM475. Even though there is
no S2 on the DM475, it is still displayed
in Diagnostics as "Clear".
Used to Debit funds and generate indica
prior to printing.
