The last page of the Disk function offers some
useful operations: Format (1.44 Mb and 720 Kb
disks) and File Erase.
FORMATTING YOUR DISKS
In order that WK3 can read and write data to
disks, they must be of a recognisable format be-
fore being used. If you try to use a disk format-
ted for a non-Generalmusic instrument, the drive
prompt you with an appropriate message and
invite you to abort the operation and try with an-
other disk.
Two formatting operations are available.
Format 720 Kb
This operation formats a 3.5" DD floppy disk in
MS-DOS/Atari ST format (capacity 720 kilobytes).
Format 1.44 Mb
This operation formats a 3.5" HD floppy disk for
WK3 use with a capacity of 1.44 Megabytes. The
format is completely compatible with the stand-
ard MS-DOS format to permit the exchange of
files with the WK Series instruments, with com-
puters running MS-DOS, Windows, OS/2, Mac-
intosh, Atari and Amiga.
The formatting process can be carried out regard-
less of the current mode. For example, you can
format a disk while you are playing a user-Style.
