Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REPLACE the GEM; REFER to
Section
419-10. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit 774 (LG). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
Measure resistance between transfer case assembly C201-6, circuit 682 (DB), and GEM C239-21, circuit 682
(DB); and between transfer case assembly C201-8, circuit 682 (DB), and GEM C239-21, circuit 682 (DB).
Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes
REPLACE the GEM; REFER to
Section
419-10. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit 682 (DB). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
If the rear Hall effect sensor is not indicating properly, measure the voltage between transfer case assembly
C201-3, circuit 774 (LG), and ground. If the front Hall effect sensor is not indicating properly, measure the voltage
between transfer case assembly C201-7, circuit 774 (LG), and ground.
Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to A15.
No
REPAIR circuit 774 (LG). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
