66 Instruments and controls
Fuel-low indicator light
The light comes on when there is less than
approx. 10 litres of fuel in the tank. See also
DTE function (Distance to Empty) on
page 72.
NOTICE
If the car runs out of fuel, air may be drawn
in with the fuel, which, in turn, can cause
the catalytic converter to be damaged by
overheating.
Cars with diesel engine: If you run out of
fuel, see page 136.
Headlight and position
light indicator
This light indicates that the headlights or
position lights are on.
Cruise control indicator
light 3
This light comes on when the system is
engaged, see page 144.
Gear selector indicator
(cars with automatic
transmission)
The selected gear position is displayed in
the left-hand section of the information win-
dow.
When gears are selected manually, the
letter M (manual) and the selected gear are
displayed, see page 143.

TCS or StabiliTrak
indicator light 3
WARNING
The system improves ride comfort and
safety during normal driving. It must
however not be regarded as a system
to enable the driver to maintain higher
speeds. The same precautions as
normal for safe cornering and driving
on slippery roads must be adopted, see
pages 148/ 150.
This symbol lights up when the system is
operative.

If the TCS or StabiliTrak system comes
into action, it indicates that there is low fric-
tion between the tyres and road surface.
Extra care must be taken.
