Wheels

NOTICE
Wide wheels and tyres with side walls
that are too low can:
• be damaged in potholes, etc.
• cause springs, shock absorbers,
wheel bearings and chassis mount-
ings to be overloaded
• come into contact with chassis and
body components
®
• affect the StabiliTrak
function.
The speed and load limits of the tyres
must not be exceeded; see page 211.
Wheels larger than 18" must not be fitted.
Wheel offset must be 41 mm.
Alternative tyres and wheels
Before changing to wheels/tyres of another
size, we recommend that you contact an
authorised Cadillac workshop regarding
acceptable options. See also page 241.
Wheel/tyre combinations that are not
approved by Cadillac can negatively affect
the car's directional stability, steering and
braking in both wet and dry conditions.
The wheels and tyres have been carefully
matched to the characteristics of the car and
play a key role in its outstanding road-
holding and handling.
Do not take it for granted that a wheel/tyre
combination will work in the best possible
way, just because it can be fitted to the car.
To ensure that the speedometer is as accu-
rate as possible, it should be reprogrammed
if wheels of a different size are fitted. We
recommend that you contact an authorised
Cadillac workshop.
Tyre pressure
WARNING
Check the tyre pressure at least once a
month and before long journeys. Under-
inflation can result in:
• punctures
• separation of the tyre and tread
• damage to the sideways
• damage to the rims on poor roads
• poor handling characteristics.
