Spare wheel

WARNING
The spare wheel or punctured wheel
must be stowed under the luggage com-
partment floor, and secured in place with
the retaining nut.
Compact spare
The compact spare wheel may only be used
when one of the car's normal tyres has
punctured. Maximum distance for the com-
pact spare wheel is approx. 2,100 miles
(3,500 km).
NOTICE
To avoid cosmetic damage to a punc-
tured alloy wheel, this can be temporarily
placed outside up in the spare wheel well
but only while driving to the closest work-
shop.
As a general rule, all heavy loads must be
well secured in the luggage compart-
ment, see page 112.
The spare wheel, tools and jack (replaced
by tyre repair kit on certain markets) are
stowed under the luggage compartment
floor.
Sedan: Fold the carpeting forward to ease
access to the tools and spare wheel.
Wagon: The hatch in the floor has a handle.
To raise this, press lightly on the marked
section of the handle.
The screwdriver handle has a "button" for
removing two-stage plastic rivets. This type
of rivet must be removed before replacing
bulbs in the boot lid and right tail light. See
page 198.
