The Description of the Configuration
A. LAN Setup
IP
The IP address is a unique 4-byte (32-bit) numeric value
Address
used to identify a network and a local host on that
network. Each IP address consists of four sets of decimal
numbers separated by the period (e.g. 192.72.243.1).
Each address is composed of two parts: a network part
and a host part. The network part identifies the unique
subnet that contains the host; the host part identifies the
actual host device.
IP
The IP address netmask (also 32 bits, written in dotted
NetMask
decimal notation) is used in conjunction with an IP
address to specify which bits of the address make up the
network part and which the host part. A one (1) in a
mask bit location means the corresponding bit in the IP
address is part of the network value; a zero (0) means
the corresponding bit is part of the host value.
