TABLE A-12
CR ID
Description
6639002
On systems with PCI-E adapters that have been
faulted by Predictive Self-Healing (PSH) diagnosis
on the host, the show faulty command displays
the faulty FRU as the motherboard (/SYS/MB)
instead of the PCI-E adapter. The following PSH
message IDs are affected:
• SUN4-8000-4P
• SUN4-8000-A2
• SUN4-8000-75
• SUN4-8000-9J
• SUN4-8000-D4
• PCIEX-8000-0A
• PCIEX-8000-DJ
• PCIEX-8000-HS
Other fault-related information might be incorrect.
Such information includes the fault_state
property of components, the Faulted Components
listed under the Fault Management tab in the ILOM
web interface, and within the /SP/faultmgmt tree.
6637996
The value of OpenBoot PROM variable
pci-mem64? should be set to true (the default) with
one exception:
If bootmode is set to reset_nvram, the value will
be false upon first poweron.
Note that on the second poweron the bootmode will
reset to normal and the default value of pci-
mem64? will return to true.
6635541
If the SCC chip is missing or corrupted, a message is
output to the serial port when the SP boots but no
event is inserted into the event log and no fault is
generated.
The message is:
ERROR: Missing or invalid SCC PROM
When logging into the SP, the following messages are
displayed before the prompt
(-> or sc>) is displayed:
Waiting for daemons to
initialize...
vbsc daemon failed to start
sccd daemon has shutdown
Workaround
Note - Fixed in System Firmware 7.1.3.d or later.
Use the Fault Management utilities on the host to find
the location of the faulty PCI-E adapters. See the
Integrated Lights Out Manager 2.0 User's Guide for
information about using Fault Management features.
If you do not have web access, the faulty FRU can be
identified from the Solaris fmdump (1M) command.
For example:
# fmdump –v –u UUID
where UUID is the event ID displayed by the
showfaults command and the PSH console
message displayed on the host.
Note - Fixed in System Firmware 7.1.3.d or later.
To ensure that the value of pci-mem64? is set to true,
you can set the variable using the ILOM CLI (DMTF
CLP or ALOM compatibility CLI). The setting is
retained until another CLI operation changes it.
Note - Fixed in System Firmware 7.1.3.d or later.
If this message appears, reseat or replace the
SCC chip.
