7. TROUBLESHOOTING

Trouble
Steering wheel is heavy
When releasing steering wheel, it
will not return to neutral.
Or returns arbitrarily.
Cylinder operation more degraded
against steering wheel oration.
Or it will not operate.
Steering wheel rotates in reverse
direction.
Oil leakage
1. Shaft
(Outer of spline in spool)
2. Assembly surface (between
housing and spacer plate, between
GEROTOR and end cover)

Probable Cause
1. Power steering unit
(1) Column and center
mismatched.
(2) Spool and sleeve dirty
(3) Excessive tightening torque
of end cover bolt (7)
2. Pump
(1) Not drive.
(2) Worn, faulty
(3) Rated poor
3. Relief valve
(1) Faulty (Poor operation)
(2) Pressure setting low
1. Power steering unit
(1) Spool and sleeve dirty.
(2) Column and center
misaligned
1. Power steering unit
Attached, mounted, GEROTOR
taken dirty mixed air due to
long-term unused.
2. Cylinder
(1) Air mixture
(1) Piston seal broken
1. Power steering unit
(1) Valve timing assembly wrong
(in disassembly and
assembly)
2. Pipe
(1) 4-port pipe wrong
1. Oil seal worn
Fluid oil dirty
2. O-ring damage
In disassembly and reassembly

* Modify (Loosen tightening bolt
with power steering unit can
cause center mismatch
