Dialling Through a Switchboard

A PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is an on-site telephone switchboard. If
your FAX-L280/L200 is connected through a PBX or other telephone
switching system, you have to dial the outside line access number first, and
then dial the number of the party you are calling.
To facilitate this procedure, you can register the PBX access type and the
outside line access number under the R button so that you only need to
press this button before dialling the fax/telephone number you want to
reach. See below for details.

Registering the R Button

Follow this procedure to register the PBX access type and outside line
access number under the R button:

Open the one-touch speed dial panel.

Press Data Registration.

Press Set twice.

You can select from the
following:
** The default setting for the UK and Ireland is EARTH CONNECTION.
The default setting for Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and
Malaysia is HOOKING.
** EARTH CONNECTION is not available for Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong,
Singapore, or Malaysia.
