Checks
Clear 'E000'. Open the front cover and the
delivery cover, insert the door switch ac-
tuator into the door switch unit, and put
paper into the delivery sensor unit. Does
the fixing heater go ON as soon as the
power is turned ON? (Check by the naked
eye.)
Turn the power OFF, open the delivery
cover, and cool the fixing heater. Set the
meter to the 12 VDC range, and connect
its probes to J318-4 (+; MAIN-TH) and -3
(−) on the DC controller PCB. Close the
delivery cover, and turn the power ON;
does the voltage lower from 5V gradually?
Are the thermistors evenly in contact with
the upper fixing roller?
Clean the contact face of the thermistors.
Is the probelm corrected?
Replace the thermistors. Is the problem
corrected?
Checks
Cancel the E001 indication. Does the fix-
ing roller heater (H1) go ON immediately
after power is switched ON?
Does the problem disappear when the ther-
mistors (TH1/TH2) are replaced?
