Disabling Drive Security

12. Click the checkbox to confirm that you have recorded the security
settings for future reference and then click Yes to confirm that you
want to change the drive security settings.
MSM updates the existing configuration on the controller to use the
new security settings and returns you to the main menu.
Note:
If you disable drive security, your existing data will not be
secure and you cannot create any new secure virtual
drives. Disabling drive security does not affect the security
of data on foreign drives. If you removed any drives that
were previously secured, you will still need to enter the
passphrase when you import them. Otherwise, you will not
be able to access the data on those drives.
Note:
If there are any secure drive groups on the controller, you
cannot delete the security key and a warning screen
appears. In order to delete the security key, you must first
delete the virtual drives on all of the secure drive groups.
Perform the following steps to disable drive security.
1. Select the Physical View tab in the left panel of the MegaRAID
Storage Manager window, and click a controller icon.
2. Right-click on the controller icon to display the menu of operations
available.
3. Select Change Drive Security->Disable, as shown in
Note:
You can also access the drive security settings menu by
clicking the Operations menu on the menu bar and
selecting Change Drive Security->Disable.
