Basic Scanner Operation Flow

This section explains the basic scanner operation flow.

Activate the scanner mode from the host PC.
[Ready to Scan] will be displayed on the control panel screen.
Ready to Scan.
To stop scanning,
operate from external device.
Scanner
1. Load documents face down.
2. Control scanning from
external device.
Place the document face down and insert it in alignment with the document
insertion guide.
If the start of document scanning has been set to manual, the <Start> key is to
be pressed at this point. Refer to the section on " How to Start Scanning" in
"7.2 Setting up the Common Specifications" for further details on starting
scanning (page 107).
Refer to "13.1 Documents" for details on loading documents (page 322).
The machine will start document scanning, and the scan data will be
transmitted to the host PC.

Scanner
Ready to send data to
external device.
Terminate the scanner mode from the host PC. The machine will return to the
copier mode.
