Making Basic Copies

This section provides an overview of the copier functions. It also provides
descriptions of automatic enlargement and reduction based on media selection.

Auto Mode and Manual Mode

[Auto Mode] is a function that enlarges or reduces an image in accordance with the
specified paper size for copying purposes when the media to be used for the copy has
already been determined.
A table that establishes correspondence between the document size and the
media size is created beforehand with the auto mode. The media type to be used is
also set up beforehand with the custom preset function. When actual copies are
made, the output percentage and media type are determined from the document size
in accordance with the corresponding table and preset parameters.
[Manual Mode] is a function that enables the output percentage and media type to be
specified manually before the copy is made.
Press the Manual/Auto key on the control panel to switch between the auto mode
and the manual mode. It is also possible to cancel the auto mode and activate the
manual mode by pressing the <Reduce/Enlarge> key or <Media Supply> key.
