    About Your System Accessing System Features During Startup The following keystrokes provide access to system features during startup. Keystroke Description <F2> Enters the System Setup program. See "Using the System Setup Program and UEFI Boot Manager" on page 63. <F10> Enters System Services, which opens the Lifecycle Controller.

See "LCD Status Messages" on page 23 for information about specific status codes.

This screen is displayed during normal system operation when there are no status messages or errors present. When the system is in standby mode, the LCD backlight will turn off after five minutes of inactivity if there are no error messages.

    Warning Messages A warning message alerts you to a possible problem and prompts you to respond before the system continues a task. For example, before you format a diskette, a message will warn you that you may lose all data on the diskette. Warning messages usually interrupt the task and require you to respond by typing y (yes) or n (no).

    NOTE: Operating systems must be UEFI-compatible (for example, Microsoft ® Windows Server 2008 x64 version) to be installed from the UEFI boot mode. DOS and 32-bit operating systems do not support UEFI and can only be installed from the BIOS boot mode.
