serious personal injury could occur if you
connect your machine to the power source
before you have completed the set up pro-
cess. do not connect the machine to the
power source until instructed to do so.
amperage draw
the Model g0493 features 220/440v motors
that are prewired for 220v and draw the following
amps under combined maximum load:
Motor draw at 220v .............................. 28 amps
Motor draw at 440v .............................. 14 amps
circuit requirements
We recommend connecting your machine to a
dedicated and grounded circuit that is rated for
the amperage given below. never replace a circuit
breaker on an existing circuit with one of higher
amperage without consulting a qualified electri-
cian to ensure compliance with wiring codes. if
you are unsure about the wiring codes in your
area or you plan to connect your machine to a
shared circuit, consult a qualified electrician.
220v Circuit ........................................... 40 amps
440v Circuit ........................................... 20 amps
connection to power
place your machine in a permanent location and
have a qualified electrician hardwire it the power
source, using a locking shutoff switch (figure 6)
to disconnect power to the machine.

grounding
in the event of an electrical short, grounding
reduces the risk of electric shock. the grounding
wire to the machine must be properly installed
and grounded. all electrical connections must be
made in accordance with local codes and ordi-
nances.
electrocution or fire could
result if this machine is
not grounded correctly
or if your electrical con-
figuration does not com-
ply with local and state
codes. ensure compliance
by checking with a quali-
fied electrician!

phase converter

important: When using a phase converter,
the power from the manufactured power leg
(sometimes called the wild wire) can fluctuate.
Connect the manufactured power leg to the s
terminal to prevent damage to the transformer.
the wire from the s terminal can handle some
fluctuation because it goes directly to the motor.
the power going to the r and t terminals goes to
the transformer and must be consistent to prevent
damage.
