29.80 oz)
7. Check:
• Gear teeth
Damage/wear → Replace the gear.
8. Check:
• Bearing
• Oil seal
Damage/wear → Replace the defective
part(s).

ASSEMBLING THE STARTER MOTOR

1. Install:
• Starter motor cover bolts "1"
Starter motor cover bolt
3.5 Nm (0.35 m·kgf, 2.5 ft·lbf)
TIP
Align the match mark "a" on the stator with the
match mark "b" on the front and rear cover.
