Hardware configuration
The SIMOCRANE ESSM system requires a valid hardware configuration comprising at least the
configuration for the PLC, the HMI and up to 8 SINAMICS DCP units.

The hardware configuration is not included in the library. We recommend that you
implement your project based on the supplied application example. The application example
contains a complete configuration for all devices, IP addresses and telegrams.
You can use this configuration to generate the device description file (gsdml) for the IO
controller (crane PLC).
The hardware components are preconfigured for different expansion levels (number of power
converters). Adaptations for the actual number in the system are not necessary. Non-existent
components are automatically deactivated by SIMOCRANE ESSM.

Integration into the user project
The product "SIMOCRANE Energy Storage System Management" simply contains a product
library. For easier and faster accessibility, we also provide you with a complete example project.
You can customize this to suit your own individual configuration. This example application can
be downloaded separately. We recommend that you implement your project based on this
application.
6.6.1
Importing the library
The structure of the global library is described below. We also describe how to import this into
your project if you are not using the example project.
The library must be dearchived before you can use in the project. To do this, right-click
an empty space on the "Global libraries" tab in the TIA Portal and select "Open Library...".
A further window opens. Now search for the archived "SIMOCRANE_ESSM_Lib_V... .zal17"
file which has been sent to you. Then click "Open" and select a storage location for the
dearchived library. Ideally this will be the folder in which your project is also stored.
