Selection of operating modes

As well as selecting the drive configuration, you can decide in which operating mode the energy
storage system should start. You can switch between the following operating modes:
• "Black Start" mode
• "Manual mode" for manual charging and discharging
• "Peak Shaving"
The default setting is "Manual mode", although this can be changed by means of
parameterization. The operating modes can be changed during shutdown by means of a
command from the higher-level control or from the local HMI.
The selection is made according to the sequence diagram below.
Note
The "Black Start/infeed operation" mode should only be selected if a black start is necessary.

CAUTION
A controlled infeed must be in operation at the SINAMICS DC link for these modes, as
malfunctions of the energy storage system are otherwise possible.
Ensure that no other device can control the DC link voltage. The energy storage system takes
over the control on startup.
