5.2.5 Z-Folding is Not Performed Properly

Cause:
If a sheet is curled and its edge touches the guide board, proper folding may not be
possible.
Upward curl (radius 4 cm [1.6 in.] or less)
at leading edge of delivered paper.
Paper feed direction
Solution:
1. Load the paper the other way up.
2. Print the image. Is the problem resolved?
Yes
Finished!
No
Move to the next step.
To follow the steps below, attach the decurler unit.
3. In the [Adjustment Settings for Skilled Operators] menu, set [0116: Adjust
Paper Curl] to [Adjust
4. Print the image. Is the problem resolved?
Finished!
Yes
No

Note:
• This folding error will not occur if uncurled paper is used or sheets that curl
downward.
