Testing the network connection

After you have installed the hardware and performed initial configuration, use
the following methods to test the network connectivity:
Perform a PING test.To perform this test, the following must be true:
— You must be physically connected to the network.
— You must be logged on to Configuration Manager.
Refer to "Using Configuration Manager's PING" on page 197 for com-
plete details on performing a Configuration Manager PING.
Perform a syslog test.
Refer to "Syslog testing" on page 200 for complete details on performing a
syslog test.
