Setting Up PRI Channels

Enabling SNMP Sets
This example shows how to configure a Remote Annex 6300 to handle
dial-in calls from ISDN and analog modems.

Before You Begin

Quick2Config requires that the Remote Annex be configured to accept
SNMP set commands. However, the default setting for the
allow_snmp_sets parameter does not permit parameter value changes
because the SNMP set command's header transmits the community string
in clear text, which may be a security risk. If security is a concern, you
can take the following measures:
1.
Verify that the Annex is configured to boot from a host with a
valid Annex configuration file.
Self-boot units will not allow you to modify the
configuration file, which may be necessary in some of the
following steps. You must manually edit the configuration
file for a self-boot unit and then reboot the unit in order
to allow some changes.
2.
Edit the %gateway section of the config.annex file for the Remote
Annex to define at least one community string with read/write
privileges. Change the line:
snmp community public
to:
snmp community q2cannex * read-write
The Remote Annex will accept SNMP sets only from sources using
the community string q2cannex. You can further restrict the access
by including the IP address of the Quick2Config Annex host.
snmp community q2cannex 192.9.200.55 read-write
