Operation
The value of the OBW le is written to the variable in
the device.
The device is reset according to the variable.
The ON LED lights up green.
The STATUS LED lights up blue.
The device has completed the reset.
NOTICE
Malfunction of the device (reset loop).
If the OBW le remains on the Data platform, the device
may no longer function properly.
After a successful factory reset, delete the OBW le

FACTORY RESET VIA THE CAN INTERFACE
For a factory reset via the CAN interface, you need a
CANopen software (e.g. RM CAN-Device Monitor) and a
communication gateway (e.g. TFX Support Tool).
The CANopen software writes the value 0x64616F6C to
the CANopen object index 0x1011 to trigger a speci c
reset variant.
In the following example, the factory reset using the
sub-index 0x65 (revert to standard con guration) is shown:

Pay attention that the USB plug is correctly aligned to the
USB port on the computer before being plugged in and that
it is plugged in without using excessive force. Incorrect
alignment during connection or the use of excessive force
could cause damage to the USB port.
1. Connect the device to a PC. See chapter Connecting
the device to the PC
2. Start the selected CANopen software.
3. Perform the required steps in the CANopen software
to write the value 0x64616F6C to the object index,
0x1011 sub-index 0x65.
4. Write the value to the device's object directory.
5. Wait until the device sends the CANopen bootup
message to the IDs 0x727 and 0x728.
The device reverts to the rmware defaults (object
0x1011 0x65).
The ON LED lights up green.
The STATUS LED lights up blue.
The device has adopted the rmware defaults (baud
rate 250 kbit/s, node ID 39 etc.).

5.12.2 Factory reset via the start cable

The factory reset via the start cable corresponds with the
function "Revert to Firmware Default Local 0x1011 0x65" .
NOTICE
A factory reset via the start cable restores the standard
con guration of the current rmware. All logged data and
parameters are deleted. The factory con guration is retained.
1. Connect the device to the power supply grid with the
cable CLM3 start cable, 6 open, 2 dsub, 1 pw, 2 m
and the power supply unit from the starter kit.
2. Slide the switch on the D-Sub connector (CAN1)
toward the socket.
