External ground connection: The external ground connection is located on the exterior
of the transmitter housing. Refer to
option T1.
WARNING
Grounding the transmitter case via threaded conduit connection may not provide
sufficient ground continuity.
Transient protection terminal block grounding
The transmitter can withstand electrical transients of the energy level usually encountered
in static discharges or induced switching transients. However, high-energy transients,
such as those induced in wiring from nearby lightning strikes, can damage the transmitter.
You can order the transient protection terminal block as an installed option (option code
T1) or as a spare part to retrofit existing Rosemount 3051P Transmitters in the field. See
