Apply a l i g h t c o a l o f the engine oil on the threads and
u n d e r the bolt heads of the main bearing caps.
I n s t a l l and uniformly lighten the fourteen bolts of the
m a i n bearing caps in several passes, in the sequence
shown

Check that t h e crankshaft t u r n s s m o o thly
Check t h e crankshaft thrust clearance.
