contacting Service. The system performs an automatic check and prints 10 pages (side 1 printed
from print engine A1 and side 2 printed from print engine A2). Visually inspect and compare the
image quality and select whether side 1 or side 2 is lighter, or no difference between the sides. The
routine will increase the toner mass on the photoreceptor belt if the user indicates that one side is
lighter than another.

System Optimization Customer Setup

From the User Diagnostics window, select System > System Optimization Customer Setup. The Setup
- Optimization Switches window appears. Enable or disable the following optimization switches as needed
for the job.
• Enable Registration Skew Data Logging for CFA - Do not enable this setting unless instructed by
a Xerox Service representative. The setting logs Registration data during Remote Data pushes. The
information is used to diagnose and repair Registration Skew.
• Enable Area 5B Purge - After a jam occurs, this default setting purges unused media to area 5B of
the printer, and to the Top Tray of the finisher. Purging media to these two areas simplifies jam
clearance. It is recommended that you select this feature so that you do not have to check the entire
paper path to clear a jam.
• Light-Weight Stock Jobs - Optimize Image Quality - Do not enable this setting unless instructed
by a Xerox Service representative. If sections of an image are missing on lightweight, large-format
media with low area coverage, use this feature to improve image quality. Typically, these missing
sections of an image occur on side 2 of a 2-sided job. Do not use this feature for heavyweight stock
and if EIP mode is enabled. If the system faults when printing with this feature, run routine dC0604
PE Registration Setup before printing again. It is recommended you run a sample print before using
on your production job.
• Light-Weight Stock Jobs - Optimize Job Quality - This setting is not available to the customer
operator.
• Pass Through Mode - For the Xerox Nuvera 200/288/314 EA/MX Perfecting Production System only.
From the menu, select the print engine you want the system to use to continue printing 1-sided or
2-sided jobs when the other print engine is shut down. Your choices are Print Engine A1 Only or Print
Engine A2 Only. To allow paper to pass through the idle print engine, use the Pass Through Mode
feature. To disable Pass Through Mode, and allow paper to print using both print engines, select Off.
• Heavy-Weight Stock Jobs - Enhance Image Permanence (EIP) - For the EA Production System.
Select this feature for media with challenging fix characteristics, such as heavy, rough stock, and
some coated stock. When you enable EIP, an EIP icon appears in the status mode area of the user
interface, which indicates that the EIP mode is in effect. During printing, the fuser runs at a constant,
higher temperature, and increases image permanence on heavyweight paper. Since this higher
temperature can cause waves and curl in lightweight stocks, it can degrade output stack quality. If
so, deselect this setting. When not printing on heavyweight stock, use the AIP mode.
• Automatic Image Permanence for All Stock Weights (AIP) - AIP is the preferred mode. For the EA
Production System, select this feature for the system to automatically adjust the Fuser temperature,
based on the media selected in the job.
