POCKET BEEP AND TONE/DIGITAL SQUELCH

I Pocket beep operation

This function uses subaudible tones in FM; digital code or call
sign in Digital voice mode for calling and can be used as a
"common pager" to inform you that someone has called while
you were away from the transceiver.
In addition, if the received signal includes matched digital
code, any calls, even a CQ call, can be received when using
the pocket beep function with digital code. However, when
using the call sign squelch for the pocket beep, the signal that
containing your call sign (when another station calling you)
can only be received.

qSet the desired operating frequency and mode (FM or Dig-
ital voice).
• Using the CTCSS — in FM mode
w Displays the Set Mode screen.
- Select "Edit Set Mode(C)..." in View menu.
- Click " " in tool bar.
- Press [F7] key on the PC keyboard.
eDouble click the "CTCSS Tone" cell, then select the desired
tone frequency.
rClick [TONE]
once or twice until "PBEEP" ap-
(FM mode)
pears to turn the pocket beep function ON.
t When a signal with matched tone signal is received;
- The transceiver emits beep tones.
- Shows "PBEEP" and "
PBEEP
y Push [PTT] to answer.
• The pocket beep function is cancelled and the tone squelch or
digital code squelch operation is selected automatically.
• "TSQL" indication appears instead of "PBEEP."
u Click [TONE] once to cancel the tone squelch function.
• "TSQL" indication disappears.
