Problem
Fax failed to send.
An "Out of Memory"
status message
displays in the status
message bar.
Print quality of a photo
is poor or prints as a
gray box.
Pressed the Cancel
button on the MFP
keyboard to cancel a fax
transmission and the
fax was still sent.
No Phone Book button
is displayed.
Not able to locate
the Fax settings in
HP Web Jetadmin.

Cause
LAN fax is enabled.
Cause
JBIG is enabled and receiving
fax does not have JBIG
capability.
The MFP storage disk is full. Delete some files from the disk,
Wrong Page Content mode
setting.
The Cancel button on the
keyboard does not cancel fax
transmissions.
The Phone Book feature has
not been enabled.
Fax settings in HP Web
Jetadmin are located under
the device's status page
drop-down menu.
Solution
This is normal operation. When the
HP Digital Sending Software
enables LAN fax, the analog fax is
disabled and the fax menu, which
is used for the analog fax only,
does not display.
Solution
Set JBIG off, see "Setting JBIG
compression mode" on page 49.

Try setting the Page Content mode
to Graphics or Text and Graphics,
see "To send a fax - enter
number(s) manually" on page 28,
or refer to Page Content mode in
the MFP user guide.
Cancel faxes using the fax menu,
see "Canceling a fax" on page 36.
Use the HP MFP Digital Sending
Software Configuration utility to
enable the phone book feature.
Select Digital Sending and Fax
from the drop-down menu. For
more information, see "HP Web
Jetadmin" on page 46.
