Audio Interface

This chapter provides details on optimal use of the front panel AUDIO INTERFACE section
and rear panel AUDIO IN jacks.
Use the rear panel AUDIO IN jacks to mix external audio sources with the sounds of the
K2700, apply effects to external audio sources, or route external audio sources to a computer
for recording or processing in a DAW. This is useful for playing along with backing tracks
from a portable music player, computer, or other electronic instrument. Input volume can be
adjusted by using the front panel AUDIO INTERFACE section controls. Routing and FX
can be adjusted in Global Mode.

AUDIO INTERFACE Section

The front panel AUDIO INTERFACE section contains controls for optimizing the signal
quality of analog audio signals received by the rear panel AUDIO IN jacks.
INPUT 1 GAIN / INPUT 2 GAIN Knobs
The INPUT 1 GAIN and INPUT 2 GAIN knobs independently control the input levels of
the rear panel AUDIO IN LEFT/RIGHT jacks. Use the GAIN knobs in combination with
the Signal Level LEDs to set an optimal level for the input signal. After setting an optimal
signal level, the GAIN knobs should typically not be adjusted during performance.
The INPUT 1 GAIN knob controls the preamp gain of the AUDIO IN LEFT jack.
The INPUT 2 GAIN knob controls the preamp gain of the AUDIO IN RIGHT jack.
Note: The response curve of the GAIN knobs is non linear compared to a typical volume
control. When a GAIN knob is turned all the way down (counter clockwise), the gain
amount is set to a low value (not zero). As a GAIN knob is turned up (clockwise), the gain
amount increases slowly at first, then the gain amount rapidly accelerates as the knob passes
the midpoint (12 o'clock position).
