Mode
Use the Mode parameter to set the frequency Mode of each Operator.
When Mode is set to Ratio, the frequency of the Operator is determined by each note played
on the keyboard (in combination with the Frequency parameter). This is useful for melodic
sounds.
When Mode is set to Fixed, the frequency of the Operator is determined by the Frequency
parameter. This is useful for percussive sounds.
Frequency
Use the Frequency parameter to set the frequency of each Operator.
When Mode is set to Ratio, the frequency of the Operator is determined by each note played
on the keyboard. Use the Frequency parameter to set the Ratio at which the frequency is
changed.
When Mode is set to Fixed, the frequency of the Operator is determined by the Frequency
parameter.
Operator Envelope Generator Parameters
Each Operator contains an envelope generator which controls the output level of the
Operator. Use the Operator envelope generator parameters to control the output level of the
Operator over time.
For Operators in the bottom row of the Algorithm diagram, changes to the output level of
the Operator are heard as changes in audio level (similar to an amplitude envelope).
For Operators in higher rows of the Algorithm diagram, changes to the output level of the
Operator are heard as changes in modulation depth.
R1, L1
When a note is played, the R1 parameter determines the rate at which the Operator output
level changes from 0 (silence or no modulation) to the level set by L1.
The R1 parameter can be set to rate values from 0-99. Smaller rates make changes happen
slowly, while larger rates make changes happen quickly.
The L1 parameter can be set to values from 0-99, where 0 is equivalent to silence or no
modulation, and 99 is equivalent to the maximum possible Operator volume or modulation
depth.
