IBM Supervisor-1 Module

The IBM Supervisor-1 Module is designed specifically for the SAN192C-6 and SAN384C-6 chassis.
This supervisor module provides control and management functions for the switch and enables high-
performance switching.
This supervisor module supports the following features:
• Nondisruptive software upgrades
• Stateful process restart and failover
• Fully redundant operation
• Support for up to 384 Fibre Channel ports in a single chassis and 1152 Fibre Channel ports in a single
rack
• Support for up to 24 Tbps of Fibre Channel system bandwidth
• Multipathing based on Fabric Shortest Path First (FSPF)
• Ability to dynamically reroute traffic in the event of a switch failure
• Network management through the command-line interface (CLI) and through Data Center Network
Manager (DCNM)
• Extensive security features including RADIUS and TACACS+, Fibre Channel Security Protocol (FC-SP),
Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), Secure Shell (SSH) Protocol, and Simple Network Management
Protocol Version 3 (SNMPv3) implementing Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), VSANs, hardware-
enforced zoning, ACLs, and per-VSAN role-based access control
• Support for virtual SAN (VSAN) technology and inter-VSAN routing (IVR)
• Network services such as access control lists (ACLs) and quality of service (QoS)
• Smart zoning
