Verification with the "ID-Genius" decoder
When you select the "ID-Genius" decoder (AUTOHOTSPOT), only uncalibrated verification is
possible. The verification standard to be used for this (ISO/IEC 16022 or ISO/IEC 29158) can
be selected in the advanced settings of the decoder step. Please note that the ID-Genius
implementation of the quality calculation according to ISO/IEC 16022 deviates from the
standard.

Demo mode
To evaluate the verification standards, the optical readers of the SIMATIC MV500 series
support a demo mode. The demo mode is indicated in the verification library by the addition
of "Demo" in the "Verification standard" group.
In the demo mode, remember the following restrictions:
• When you select a verification reference other than "Uncalibrated", the check box
"Evaluate 'Bad' evaluation as 'N_OK'" is disabled. No N_OK reads will be generated due to
the quality evaluation.
• In the verification report, the four-digit quality values are replaced by the word "DEMO".
All quality grades are output as "0" or "F".
Note
Manually readjusting exposure settings
You can readjust the read settings manually following normalization and calibration.
• Deselect the "From reference" check box in the image settings.
Please note that the quality values calculated will no longer comply with the standard.
• For documentation, use the "Formatted output of the verification" that contains the read
settings used for image acquisition.

ISO/IEC 16022

This standard is based on data for printing data matrix codes with black ink on white paper
and can normally only be used in such scenarios.

As the second edition of the ISO/IEC 16022 standard, the ISO/IEC 16022:2006 document
refers to the ISO/IEC 15415 standard as a guideline for print quality.
