7 OPERATION

FITTING CUTTING UNITS ____________________________________________
Cutting Unit Mounting - Magna 250
Front units:
1.
Lower the lift arm (A). If fitted remove Shaft (B) from
Clamp Plate (E)
2.
Apply grease to shaft (B) to ease fitting. Insert the shaft
through pivot mounting bracket (H). Ensure the rubber
seals either end of housing (H) remain seated.
3.
Fit spacers in correct sequence, (C) large and (G) small
and then locking collar (D) to shaft. Fasten with screw and
lock washer (F).
4.
Push Shaft (B) fully home against Lock Collar.
5.
Loosen Clamp Plate (E), Align Shaft (B) & Insert until Unit
is fully home with no space between collars. Tighten
Clamp (E).
Centre unit
1.
Follow the above steps for fitting the front units. Note that
the collar (C) arrangement is different with equal sized
collars. See diagrams opposite.

The center unit also has the addition of a shaft clamp screw
and washer (J) to be fitted at end of shaft once the unit is
attached and secured in place.
Hydraulic Motor:
1. It is important not to contaminate the motor shaft or internal splines of the cutting cylinder. If for any reason
they are contaminated, they should be cleaned by degreasing. Liberally lubricate the motor and cylinder
splines before assembling. (Section 8.2.2)
2. Attach the Cutting Unit hydraulic motors onto the Units bearing housing. Secure to studs using the nuts and
washers supplied.

BEFORE OPERATING FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Check and adjust tyre pressure, if necessary, see section 4.3 Specification.
• Add diesel fuel to tank if necessary.
• Check engine oil and top-up, if necessary.
• Check radiator coolant and top-up, if necessary (50% antifreeze solution).
• Make sure you understand the information contained in the previous sections.
