HOW TO REMOVE A BLOCKAGE FROM CUTTING UNITS ____________________

It is important to note: there can be stored energy within the system that can cause the cutting cylinder to
rotate when the obstruction is removed. Therefore keep your hands, feet and clothing away from cutting units
at all times.
1) Disengage the power to the cutting unit.
2) Set the parking brake.
3) Move the throttle control lever to the slow position.
4) Turn the ignition key to the off position and remove the key.
Make sure correctly selected PPE is worn before you clear the obstruction.
8) use the Ransomes Jacobsen "Cutting Unit Tool" part number 4184540 See below or stout stick, put into
the cutting cylinder between the blades.
9) Rotate the cylinder with either the "Cutting Unit Tool" or "Stout Stick" until the obstruction has been
removed.
10) Inspect all the cutting surfaces for damage, when necessary replace the damaged components.
